HALLELUJAH NIGHT 2009

There once was a pirate and a tiger...
We let Owen choose this year what he'd like to dress-up as,
he made a very handsome pirate!

Joel was a cutey-pa-tootey tiger, he didn't make it out that night because of the cold weather, but non-the-less, we dressed him and took some pictures!

Family Vacation, Lake Conroe

We recently got back from our 'annual family vacation'.
We stayed in a 4 bedroom lakehouse right on Lake Conroe, complete with a pool in the backyard!
We enjoyed swimming everyday, BBQing and just relaxing the day away!
Though the fishing wasn't great this time around, the time spent together and the memories we made are well worth it!

We Are All Smiles!

These pics were taken on our way to San Antonio to have Owen's 3 year old pictures done.
He was practicing his smile for the camera!

Joel has been smiling on purpose for a couple of days now, but I hadn't been able to catch it on camera...he was feeling very generous this day, so I got alittle camera happy!

Joel's been sleeping in his carseat lately, its given us many a-good nights rest!
He's extra smiley in the morning!

Weeee! Owen's 3!!!

Well, we survived yet another hot, backyard, middle of summer, June birthday party!
For weeks Owen was super excited and couldn't wait for the day!
Did a swimming pool party - could not see us doing this again on such a hot day without there being lots of water involved for the kiddos to cool off with!
I think everyone had a great time, until it got close to 2:00, then all the toddlers were having breakdowns due to it being nap time!
All-in-all, Owen was blessed with some great gifts, a good time with his buddies
and again, some great memories!

Owen anxiously waiting for his guests to arrive!

The menu - Hotdogs and Nachos!

And plenty-o-drinks!

Aunt Kie-Kie was a trouper once again and helped me make this beach ball cake, however,
we decided to call the local cake lady for next years!
This was definately a step up from last years!

What party is complete without a pinata, well according to Owen!
It's his favorite part and he had quite the meltdown letting all the other kids have a turn trying to break it - once again it was unbreakable and we had to call on big cousin Patrick to bring on the candy!

GIFTS!
Every year people ask me what to get Owen, so I give the typical parent answer - CLOTHES!
He got plenty of those, which he could care less about...along with cards and money.
So, here are few of his favorite gifts that got caught on camera...
(please don't be offended if your's is not pictured, gift opening was very out of control!)

Skateboard...no, he's not able to do it correctly, he just pushes himself on his stomache up and down the hall!

Spiderman Swimboard...has made it's way into the bathtub for bathtime!

Better Batter Baseball...enough said!
From Momo and Popo

4-Wheeler...from Nana, Papa, Mom and Dad...OUTTA THE WAY!

Everyone pitched in to take care of Joel during the party, making sure he was well fed and changed...otherwise, he was just relaxin' in his porta-swing, catchin' some sun and random breezes!

It's Been 1 Month

Joel is now 1 month and a few days old today!
He's 21.5 inches long and 11 lbs...a big eater and super sleeper!
He's been a great baby and addition to our family!
1 Month Old
Smiley! (or maybe just gas!)

Loves to watch his birdie and bugs swing around on his playmat!

Spends most of his time sleeping in his swing - Thank God for swings!

Joel's first trip to Chuck E. Cheese - nice sticker!

We made a day just for Owen
Surprised him with a trip to Chuck E. Cheese
He had a great time playing games & winning prizes!

Getting Ready for Baby

As you can imagine, I had many things on my list to get done before the baby gets here and by the Grace of God we have gotten them all accomplished!!
Joel, you are welcome to come home anytime!

The first thing on my 'honey-do' list was moving Owen into his own "BIG BOY" bed. We needed to get his toddler bed out and re-convert it back to a baby crib for the new nursery.

We had an extra bed in the house that wasn't being used, Mel had it sand-blasted and re-painted.

We still have our nights of him sneaking out and getting into bed with us, but I'm sur it will all work out in the end! What a Champ!

The second thing on my to-do list was to get Owen potty-trained...I really held out until the last minute, mainly because I was dreading the whole thing. I'm glad I didn't push him to do it, or rush the whole process...He picked it up pretty quickly and, as small as it may be, he's a very proud little man of his first #2!

We have since moved on to 'BIG BOY' undies, I'm guessin' for about a month now, he just goes when he needs to, except for holding on to it alittle too long has caused some accidents (my apologies to chick-fil-e)!

I still put him in pull-ups during the night and at nap time for my own sanity, but he wakes up dry every time! Maybe one day I'll put them away, but for now they keep my mind at rest while he's resting!

Go-Go Incredibles!

One of the last things to get done was the baby nursery, which used to be our bedroom, once painted red, but we have given it up for the sake of the cause and moved into a smaller room in the house, oh the sacrifices we have to make!

Mel painted, put up curtains, put the bed together, shampooed carpets and had a friend come over and put up a new ceiling fan...and wah-la, we have a nursery!

This bedroom decor will be the first of many 'hand-me-downs' that Joel will recieve from Owen, along with a few onesies I kept that weren't stained with spit-up!

I love the way the whole room turned out, minus some missing doors that are in the garage getting a new paint job...It turned out to be very serenity-now (name of the paint)!...lol

Easter 2009

Easter turned out to be a beautiful day!

After church that morning, we all gathered at our house to eat bar-b-qued chicken with all the fixin's..and I can't forget to mention uncle metro's famous banana pudding!
(which I finished off the next day at lunch)
Followed by the all imortant egg hunt and pinata bashing!

Owen's cousins
Wesley, Patrick and Abby - anxiously waiting to take off and hunt some eggs!

Owen stops for a quick smile for the camera...so many eggs, so little time!

WOO-WHO!
This is a farewell picture, the duck just doesn't know it yet!
(Even Maggie wants in on the fun!)

Some "Kodak" (Philips) Moments

Here are the promised 3D Ultrasound Pictures taken this month...
He's quite camera shy and very sleepy!
All snuggled up around his arms...

He stayed hidden for the entire ultrasound...

Making it very hard to get some good shots!

I'm Gonna Be A Big Brother!

If you've been around me for the past 5/6 months, it's no mystery any longer that we are expecting again, due to the small town/church buzz and huge baby bump!
However how many people already know about our new little one on the way, I still felt the need to blog about it just in case there was one person left in the dark who just might be surprised to find out!
Last month we discovered that we are having another boy, so Owen will have a little brother to play with, grow up with and love!
Yes, we were keeping our prayers and fingers crossed in hopes for that first little bundle of pink and purple, but God had other plans!
Owen still asks us "where did Olivia go?", to which I respond "are you trying to make mommy cry?" ;)
We have now totally embraced the thought of him coming and are getting things ready for the day!
I am due middle of May and I'm about to enter my 7th month!
We will be sharing some 3D's pics with you by end of February!
Keep Posted!

Christmas 2008

Christmas, once again, has come and gone, but not without making some great memories, sharing alot of good meals and spending quality time with family!

Here's a picture of our tree - there were many decorations removed this year and then blamed on Maggie!

Let's get to work, Handy Manny Style!

How Sweet! His first play gun!
We only shoot birds, deer, bears and raccoons!

Campin' out in his new tent - he ate in it later that night for supper!

Future NFL Player!

We rang in the New Year with close friends, watching fireworks at the park and watching the ball drop...then we all dropped!
