Getting Ready for Baby

As you can imagine, I had many things on my list to get done before the baby gets here and by the Grace of God we have gotten them all accomplished!!
Joel, you are welcome to come home anytime!

The first thing on my 'honey-do' list was moving Owen into his own "BIG BOY" bed. We needed to get his toddler bed out and re-convert it back to a baby crib for the new nursery.

We had an extra bed in the house that wasn't being used, Mel had it sand-blasted and re-painted.

We still have our nights of him sneaking out and getting into bed with us, but I'm sur it will all work out in the end! What a Champ!

The second thing on my to-do list was to get Owen potty-trained...I really held out until the last minute, mainly because I was dreading the whole thing. I'm glad I didn't push him to do it, or rush the whole process...He picked it up pretty quickly and, as small as it may be, he's a very proud little man of his first #2!

We have since moved on to 'BIG BOY' undies, I'm guessin' for about a month now, he just goes when he needs to, except for holding on to it alittle too long has caused some accidents (my apologies to chick-fil-e)!

I still put him in pull-ups during the night and at nap time for my own sanity, but he wakes up dry every time! Maybe one day I'll put them away, but for now they keep my mind at rest while he's resting!

Go-Go Incredibles!

One of the last things to get done was the baby nursery, which used to be our bedroom, once painted red, but we have given it up for the sake of the cause and moved into a smaller room in the house, oh the sacrifices we have to make!

Mel painted, put up curtains, put the bed together, shampooed carpets and had a friend come over and put up a new ceiling fan...and wah-la, we have a nursery!

This bedroom decor will be the first of many 'hand-me-downs' that Joel will recieve from Owen, along with a few onesies I kept that weren't stained with spit-up!

I love the way the whole room turned out, minus some missing doors that are in the garage getting a new paint job...It turned out to be very serenity-now (name of the paint)!...lol
